Solmelu (meaning “Greetings” in Tulu) has been designed and developed with an aim to help the traditional artisans, shopkeepers, vendors in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regions, and to curate and execute a structured and seamless experience to tourists visiting the region. The main objective of Solmelu is to provide assistance to local businesses so that they can highlight the traditional art, heritage and local culture, and consequently improve their business and overall economic status by tapping into the business opportunities arising out of tourism.
